Set on Mont D’Arbois in the Megeve area of the French Alps, the lovely Chalet La Ferme De Fedy offers some of the best “ski-in/ski-out” accommodations available. Crafted from a renovated farm house, the four-bedroom gem is a flawless balance of classic Alpine style and modern appeal.

Knotty wood beams coexist beautifully with contemporary sofas and unusual accents. You will see this easiest when you enter the enormous great room. Full of sunlight, and with high ceilings balanced by heavy wooden beams, it offers you an array of places to lounge in complete comfort and style. Whether on the sofas or oversized hassocks, by the great fire place or TV lounge, you will love the amazing dimensions and yet welcoming atmosphere.

This is carried over to the dining area with its marble-topped table and contemporary lighting and accents. The kitchen is where the modern day is most present, and stainless steel premium appliances along with deluxe equipment and work surfaces will make this another of your favorite rooms in the chalet.

All of the interiors face outward toward terraces or patios, and oversized windows and doors ensure you don’t miss a moment of the delicious scenery. A mezzanine in the great room also takes you up to another TV area where late-night movies are a treat.

The four bedrooms are on the lower level along with a ski room and access to the underground garage. The master suite features a king bed and rain shower along with freestanding tub. There are two queen suites, and one has an ensuite bath. The fourth bedroom is ideal for teens or kids, and shares a bath with one of the queen suites.

Getting there by plane : Geneva Intl. Airport 1 hr. Lyon Airport 2 hrs. Grenoble Airport 2 hrs. Paris CDG Intl. Airport 6 hrs. Megeve also has its own Altiport for private jet and helicopter transfers.

Getting there by train : Closest main station is Sallanches, just 12kms away.

The two lounge areas blend into the convivial dining space and the splendid Bulthaup kitchen all come together under the spectacular high ceiling of the loft-like Great Room. A bespoke carved wooden staircase leads up to the mezzanine where tradition is united with technological comfort with a large flat screen TV and a B&O stereo.

The comfortably snug four bedrooms are located on the lower level and are adapted to privacy for couples and family fun for the younger generations. Two bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms while the twin and bunk bedrooms share a bathroom.
