The main entrance is through the kitchen, which is not only beautiful, but also eminently practical. Extremely well equipped with a large gas oven, fridge/freezer, electric oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine and a clever storage design, the kitchen is the proverbial heart of the house.

Double doors lead into the softly hued dining room, which is furnished with a large table suitable for numerous guests and designer wicker chairs. Down the hall is the spacious living area, featuring terracotta floors, a high, wood-beamed ceiling, antique furniture, interesting art pieces and a cozy fireplace.

French windows lead out onto the large, covered terrace and pool area. Down a few steps is the library. Light and comfortable, the library offers books, engravings, sketches and drawings to occupy the mind and a sofa and beautiful fireplace to engage the body.

Nearby is a charming little bedroom decorated in a discretely defined style. The bedroom offers a lovely period-style single bed, an ensuite bathroom with tub and WC and a small terrace facing the north garden. The master bedroom, accessed by a staircase, offers twin beds joined together and a large, ensuite bathroom with tub and WC. This bedroom boasts a panoramic view of the entire garden, the olive grove and the hills. It also has a glass door opening onto a small terrace and the garden.

A second staircase leads up to two more double bedrooms, one with ensuite facilities with tub and the other with a separate bathroom with tub and WC. The fifth bedroom is located away from the main house and accessed by a glass door. Decorated in soft, restful colors, the room offers a queen bed and a large, ensuite shower room with WC. (There is also a spare child’s bed in this room.)

A laundry room is situated on the side of the house with independent access, sink, washing machine and dryer. Located just 2 km south of the picturesque town of St. Remy is the archaeological site of the “Ruines de Glanum”, a Gallo-Roman settlement dating back to the 1st century B.C. Excavated in 1921, the site is notable for its monuments, public baths and residential areas. The Triumphal Arch is the oldest in Provence and portrays Gaulish captives being led away in chains by the victorious Romans. The cenotaph, called Mausolee de Jules, is virtually intact and is one of the best preserved in the Roman world. The inscription dedicating it to Augustus’ grandsons can still be clearly discerned.
