Neighborhood information
Alfama is the most typical neighborhood of Lisbon, in the center of the city, founded by the Arabs many centuries ago and the current hotspot of cultural tourism and Fado performances. From this apartment you can visit monuments, churches and other attractions on foot: the Castle, The São Vicente Monastery, the Sé Cathedral and the National Pantheon, Portas do Sol and Santa Luzia viewpoints with fantastic views, as well as explore the old Alfama district with its narrow cobbled streets and tight alleyways.

There are a variety of traditional shops nearby, and you can easily get to most places to visit in Lisbon.

You can also find nice restaurants and bars open until late, where you can have a drink and chat with your friends. The area has good transport connections: the Santa Apolonia Metro station is just 10 minutes’ walk away, and there are stops for trams and buses within 5 minutes of the apartment.
